The Summer Holiday is approaching. As scheduled, this holiday will last from July 8 to September 4, 2026. The safety reminders are as follows and please read them carefully and inform each other.
亲爱的同学们，暑期将于7月8日开启，至9月4日结束。现将安全注意事项提示如下，请大家仔细阅读并相互转告。
【遵规守纪】
All students must comply with Chinese laws and regulations in addition to our university’s regulations and rules. Violation of laws and regulations will result in legal penalties and also punishment (from warning to expulsion from school) given by ZUST.
请务必遵守中国法律法规及学校校规校纪。任何违法违规行为，均需承担法律责任，并将面临学校从警告至开除的纪律处分。
【签证延期】
Please pay attention to the expiry date of your visa. International students who need to apply for an extension or stay visa should apply early to avoid illegal residence.
请大家务必留意自己签证到期时间。需要办理签证延期的同学请提早申请，避免造成非法居留。
【留校学生】
Students residing on campus are required to adhere to dorm management regulations. Do not go to the campus construction sites. Do not leave dorm or return dorm too late. If you need to travel outside during the holiday period, please inform your advisor in advance of your destination and return date. Wherever you are, please keep your phone and WeChat available, closely follow the notices issued by the school, and respond in a timely manner. If you encounter difficulties or need help, please inform your advisor promptly.
暑期留校同学请遵守学校相关管理规定及宿舍规章制度，不要前往校园内的施工区域。非必要，不晚出晚归。如暑期离校出游，请提前告知辅导员关于旅游目的地及返程时间。旅行期间，保持通讯畅通，及时关注并回复老师信息。需要帮助，请及时联系辅导员老师。
【交通安全】
Please pay attention to traffic safety and observe traffic regulations when traveling or visiting relatives and friends. Special Reminder: Wear a helmet and slow down on standard e-bikes; do not ride modified or high-power e-bikes.
外出游玩、探亲访友时，请遵守交通规则，注意出行安全。特别提醒：骑行国标电动自行车时请佩戴头盔，减速慢行；不骑非法改装车、大功率电动车等。
If you drive a car(if not necessary, do not drive), you must have a valid Chinese driver’s license. Most importantly: never drink and driv cars or ebikes. Driving under the influence is a criminal offense and endangers yourself and others. Don’t make your family worry about you back home. Motorcycles are prohibited in the urban area of Hangzhou, and ZUSTers are not allowed to ride them.
如果驾驶汽车（非必要，不驾驶），必须持有有效的中国驾驶证。最重要的是：切勿酒后驾驶汽车或者电动车。酒后驾驶属于刑事犯罪，不仅危害自身安全，也会危及他人安全。不要让远在家乡的家人担忧。杭州市区禁摩，我校学生不得驾驶摩托车。
【住宿安全】
Please abide by social morality and public order. Do not make noise and disturb your neighbors at night especially during the World Cup periods. Please cut off the power in your room before leaving. If you stay on campus, please remember to cook in public kitchen. Cooking or lodging guests in your school dormitory is forbidden. Battery of e-bike is not allowed to take into dormitory to recharge.
请遵守社会公德与公共秩序，合理休息，尤其是世界杯期间，夜间勿喧哗扰民。外出前请关闭室内电源。校内住宿生须在公共厨房烹饪，严禁在宿舍内做饭、留宿他人或将电动车电池带入室内充电。
【禁毒防毒】
Any drug-related activities, including drug use, trafficking, transporting, and possession, are illegal. In China, substances like marijuana, opium, heroin, methamphetamine, morphine, and cocaine are considered drugs. Pay special attention to new types of drugs, which often appear in forms such as synthetic cannabinoids mixed into e-cigarettes. Please remain vigilant and take strict precautions.
任何涉及毒品的事宜在中国都属于违法行为，如吸毒、购毒、藏毒、卖毒行为。请注意在中国，大麻、鸦片、海洛因、冰毒、吗啡、可卡因等均属毒品，尤其注意新型毒品，通常以电子烟里掺入合成大麻素的形式出现，请各位同学务必提高警惕、严加防范。
【防“诈”于心】
Be Cautious of frauds. Do not give your personal account information to any strangers who call you. Never disclose any card or verification code information to callers with unknown identities.
谨防各类诈骗。请勿将个人信息提供给陌生人，妥善保管好各类证件以及卡号，请勿泄漏各项验证码。
【非法就业】
Foreign nationals working in China without the required work permit and work-related residence documents are engaging in illegal employment. Students who violate the regulations shall be subject to punishments according to the seriousness of the case.
外籍人员未取得工作许可及工作类居留证件在中国境内工作，属于非法就业。学生若违反规定，学校将视情节轻重给予相应处分。
【暑期防溺水、防中暑、防台风】
The weather is getting hot in summer vacation. Be cautious with heatstroke. Please pay attention to safety and do not go swimming in lakes, rivers, reservoirs, etc. Typhoons frequently hit Zhejiang during summer vacation. Please attach great importance to this matter and keep track of typhoon safety advisories in a timely manner.
暑期气温升高，注意防暑降温，防止中暑；请注意涉水安全。严禁前往湖泊、河流、溪流、水库等非正规水域游泳，以防溺水。暑期浙江省台风较多，请高度重视，及时关注台风安全提醒。
【防埃博拉疫情】
Ebola outbreaks have recently been reported in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, South Sudan and other countries. All faculty and students are advised to avoid traveling to these epidemic areas. Anyone who has resided in or transited through the above regions shall take the initiative to report to the school.
近期刚果（金）、乌干达、南苏丹等多国暴发埃博拉病毒疫情。为保障全体师生健康安全，建议大家切勿前往上述疫情高发地区；若有相关区域旅居、途经史，请第一时间主动向学校报备。
【防蛇虫】
Snakes, insects and other reptiles are highly active in summer, especially around the Tingsong area after dark. Please stay vigilant and take precautions when going out at night for your personal safety.
夏季气温升高，蛇、蚊虫等生物活动频繁，听松片区夜间蛇虫出没风险更高。请各位师生晚间出行、散步时提高防范意识，留意周边环境，注意自身出行安全。
【文明上网】
Please comply with the Cybersecurity Law of the People's Republic of China, surf the Internet politely, stay away from illegal websites, control your screen time and reject online addiction.
请大家遵守《中华人民共和国网络安全法》，文明使用网络，不浏览非法网站，合理安排上网时间，拒绝沉迷。
9月5日，本科生老生报到注册；9月9日，研究生老生报到注册；9月7日，本科老生开始上课;9月10日，研究生老生开始上课，请大家准时参加教学活动。
Returning undergraduate students complete registration on September 5; returning postgraduate students complete registration on September 9. All bachelor students start classes on September 7 and master students start class on September 10. Please attend all teaching activities on time.
如不能准时回校上课，请做好请假，否则将按规定旷课处理。
If unable to return on time, please submit a leave application. Non‑compliance will result in an unexcused absence per school regulations.
