In order to prevent and reduce fire safety risks and road traffic accidents brought by e-bikes and to ensure the safety of students' lives and property, the following safety reminders is hereby issued:
1. All students are prohibited from riding electric motorcycles and fuel-powered scooters. Accoring to the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, a person who drives a motor vehicle without driving license, will be given a fine from $200 to $2,000 and detained for up to 15 days.
2. Electric vehicles without school passes and non-standard electric vehicles will be forbidden to enter the campus from October 15,2024. Students using standard electric bikes should apply for campus passes as soon as possible (From 13:00 to 16:00 of Tuesdays and Thursdays,, near gymnasium and Donghe Dorm) . Non-standard electric bikes should be eliminated as soon as possible.
3. ZUST has plenty of shared electric bikes and public buses, so you don’t need to buy electric bikes. If you do need to buy one, buy a new national standard one. The specific standards are as follows:
1.The maximum speed shall not exceed 25 kilometers per hour, the vehicle mass shall not exceed 55 kilograms, the vehicle width shall not exceed 0.45 meters, the distance between the front and rear wheel centers shall not exceed 1.25 meters and the length of the saddle shall not exceed 0.35 meters; 2.The nominal voltage of the battery shall be below 48 volts and the rated power of the electric motor shall be below 400 watts; 3. It must have pedals.
