Scholarship

This scholarship program covers tuition fee, accommodation fee, living allowance and comprehensive medical insurance fee. The details of the scholarship are subject to the information published on the "CSC Study in China" website(http://www.campuschina.org ).

 Eligibility

Be a citizen of a country other than the People's Republic of China and be in good health both mentally and physically.Foreign citizens of Chinese origin who are now applying to study in China as international students must have held a valid foreign passport for at least 4 years, and must have actually resided in a foreign country for at least 2 years in the past 4 years (as of April 30, 2023) (9 months of residence in a foreign country may count as a full year).

Be a bachelor's degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master's programs.

Have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK Level 5 when applying for Chinese taught master's programs. Applicants who have previously obtained a degree from a Chinese university instructed in Chinese are exempt from providing language proficiency test scores.For those applying for a master's degree instructed in English proficiency in English should meet the specific language requirements of the respective program.

Application documents

“Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship” (in Chinese or English).

Copy of Passport Home Page. If the validity of the applicant’s current passport does not meet the requirement (meaning the passport expires before September 2023), please apply for a new passport before submitting the application.

Notarized highest diploma. Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

Academic transcripts from the undergraduate program onwards. Copies of academic records from the first to the last semester during the undergraduate period shall be provided. These transcripts shall be issued and sealed by the attending university’s academic affairs office, graduate school, or student management department. They can be in Chinese or English, but must be attached with notarized English translations if they are in foreign languages other than English.

Language qualification certificates. Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must submit valid HSK reports in accordance with the corresponding Chinese proficiency requirements. Applicants for other language-taught programs shall provide relevant language proficiency certificates according to ZUST requirements, like IELTS, TOFEL or Duolingo (englishtest.duolingo.com) report.

A study plan proposal (focus of material review). A study plan written in Chinese or English shall contain more than 1,000 characters or word.

Two letters of recommendation (written only in Chinese or English) from professors or associate professors shall be submitted. These letters shall describe the applicant’s objectives of learning in China, comprehensive abilities, and evaluation of future growth, as well as the cooperation between the supervisors or the exchange between universities both in China and abroad;

A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy shall be kept by the applicant). The form is designed by the Chinese quarantine authority and can be obtained from the dispatching authority. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take a physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.

Non-criminal record report. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.

Applicants under the age of 18 should submit the valid documents of their legal guardians in China.



Reminder: Uploaded supporting documents must be clear, authentic and valid. Applicants are recommended to use a professional device to scan the relevant documents. Applicants shall bear the consequences caused by unclear or unidentifiable uploaded materials.

Application process

Visit "CSC Scholarship Application for Students" website (http://www.campuschina.org ) and complete the application。

Select Program Category "Type B". The Agency Number of Zhejiang University of Science and Technology is 11057.

Visit the Zhejiang University of Science and Technology International Student Application System at (https://isam.zust.edu.cn/) and submit the application.

Reminder: The applicant may first contact the supervisor. After obtaining the letter of acceptance from the supervisor, please upload it to the Zhejiang University of Science and Technology application system. The supervisor's letter of acceptance cannot serve as the final admission certificate but can be used as supplementary application material.

ZUST will comprehensively consider the applicant's academic background, academic performance, language proficiency, academic achievements, and supervisor's opinion. Additionally, corresponding exams or assessments might be arranged based on the requirements of major school.

ZUST will issue a pre-admission letter to applicants who have successfully passed the assessment and will prioritize recommending them to the China Scholarship Council. The China Scholarship Council will conduct the final scholarship review for the applicants.
