Tungamirai Eric Mupona, a Zimbabwean national, graduated from ZUST in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Applied Physics. He is currently a doctoral candidate at the School of Public Affairs of Zhejiang University, with the title of Vice Chairman of the China - Zimbabwe Exchange Center, and Deputy Secretary General of the Harare African Forum, acting as a dedicated practitioner in the global dissemination of Chinese culture and the mutual learning between Chinese and African civilizations.

In terms of public welfare, he joined the school's Leifeng Team during his undergraduate studies to participate in volunteer services. In 2018, he was awarded the title of Outstanding Student at the International Station of Shangcheng District Citizens' Police College. In 2019, he founded Liuxia Guide - APL, the first international volunteer platform of Zhejiang University of Science and Technology. This platform enabled over 300 Chinese and foreign volunteers to participate in traffic guidance around the West Lake, attracted more than 500 international students to join volunteer services.

Academically, he won the First-Class Chinese Government Scholarship for International Students of the university for two consecutive years. He was also rated as one of the Top Ten International Students of the university. He presided over a project under Zhejiang Province's College Students' Technological Innovation New Seedling Program, assisted in publishing two SCI papers, and won the third prize in the Zhejiang Provincial Physics Technological Innovation Competition.

In the field of international exchanges, as a Zimbabwean youth representative, he has participated in events such as the China-Africa Youth Gala, expounding on Chinese-style modernization and the Two Mountains Concept. In 2023, he facilitated the China-Zimbabwe Cross-Cultural Dialogue. In 2024, he promoted Chinese scholars' visit to Zimbabwe, helped launch relevant forums and academic weeks, and designed the Two-Way Dialogue model. He has interpreted the China-Africa Community with a Shared Future through media outlets including CCTV. His accounts have released 39 recordings of international conferences, reaching over one million overseas audiences.

In addition, as one of the 61 young sinologists from 51 countries, he wrote a letter to President Xi Jinping, which was his second letter to President Xi. In his reply, President Xi commended their efforts in promoting the mutual learning of civilizations and encouraged them to serve as envoys bridging Chinese and foreign civilizations.
