My name is Cindy, I am from Colombia, I have 26 years old and I have been living in China for more than 5 years. I am a bachelor degree student in Business Chinese, and this year I will graduate. For me it is a pleasure to be able to share with you part of this adventure. Because I think that this is the best way to define my years in China, a true adventure, full of many experiences of all kinds, challenges, difficulties, but also many opportunities that have made me grow personally and professionally.
I successfully obtained the full scholarship to study a bachelor's degree of Business Chinese at ZUST. My experience at ZUST during these 4 years has been very different from my experience at other universities. At ZUST, I have had not only time to study, but also time to participate in many of the hundreds of activities organized every year by the university. These past years have been full of many opportunities and activities that have taught me how to learn and appreciate the Chinese culture even more.
Activities such as the International Culture Festival, Chinese poetry and calligraphy competitions, sport events, and more. Thanks to the continous support of my teachers, I have obtained different honors in these activities, such as:Poetry performance of 忆江南, which won several awards at the university, and the opportunity to participate with this piece at the Provincial Level and achieving the first place for the international students category. Additionally, I also obtained the Third prize in the "My beautiful Encounter with China" Essay Competition. The honor certificate in "I am a Star" Competition, and others. Awards that in turn allowed me to win the Innovation Scholarship of ZUST in 2019.
For all of these experiences in China, I can only thank ZUST for all the support and motivation that it has given me during these years. Undoubtedly there are many universities, but I am sure there are few, in which you can feel at home. I feel that the support provided by the university and professors has also helped me develop in the professional field. Since last year, I have started working in the field of e-commerce as a Livestreamer for companies such as Aliexpress, Amazon, Alibaba, etc. I was honored with the Alibaba Group Outstanding Livestreamer Award. Outstanding performance in “Sail from Hangzhou” Global Youth Training Program of Cross-Border E-Commerce Talents. Additionally, a local newspaper approached me and published an article about my work as a Livestreamer in the Hangzhou Feel Newspaper. I feel that each of my achievements are achievements of ZUST too, so I will forever be in gratitude and hope that I can give the world the best impression of my university.
My advice to all students or future students of ZUST, is that they should take advantage of every day, take every opportunity, participate in every activity, and make the best of every challenge that comes their way. These are the best years of our lives and so we must fill them with the best memories. I am sure that in ZUST you will find the best friends and companions that life can offer you and you will also find teachers who will guide you all the way.
