Encountering Zhejiang, ZUST "Chinese Bridge" Online Program Launched

On April 11th, 2022, Encountering Zhejiang, ZUST "Chinese Bridge" online program successfully launched. Nearly 300 students from 26 countries, including Russia, France, Thailand, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Armenia etc., attended the opening ceremony online, to start the journey of Chinese language learning and the exploration of Chinese culture, economy and technology. Ms. Tong Yunyun, Dean of School of International Education (SOIE), attended the opening ceremony and delivered a welcome speech.


Firstly, on behalf of SOIE, Ms. Tong Yunyun extended her warm welcome and sincere greetings to all the students participating in this online program. She also expressed her heartfelt thanks to the Center For Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, for the great support provided to ZUST. Ms. Tong Yunyun stated that "Chinese Bridge" program served as a bridge for overseas students to study Chinese language, to learn about Chinese culture, and to explore Chinese society.  

After the opening ceremony, students entered their respective online classrooms with great enthusiasm to learn Chinese language. They also attended a lecture on "The Internationalization of Hangzhou and the Future Opportunities of International Expats", which arose extensive and favorable comments and generated a lively discussion.


        This online program Encountering Zhejiang lasts for two weeks. In addition to the Chinese language courses, ZUST teachers will also deliver a series of courses on culture, economy, science and technology for the students, such as "Colorful Life of International Students in Hangzhou", "Technological Achievement of Modern China" and "Internet Industry in China", through which students could encounter with Zhejiang online, experience the local culture, learn about high technology and perceive the life in Hangzhou, and thus to connect themselves with others all over the world, to carry out cross-cultural exchanges, and to tell the stories of China from their perspectives.
