My name is Mukuka Kapembwa and I’m from Zambia. I am a graduating student in Computer Science and Technology. When I first came to China in September of the year 2016, everything seemed difficult and complicated thus making me face a lot of hardships. But thankfully I met the right people who came to my aid and made me feel comfortable and enthusiastic about studying here. I dedicated and compelled myself to fully commit and engage in the university life which also included participating in activities in addition to my academics. I pushed myself to learn and master the Chinese language and to be fully immersed into the Chinese culture and customs. Due to my extreme efforts, I was awarded multiple scholarships and honours which only pushed me to work even harder to achieve more.

I’d like to sincerely thank ZUST for the opportunities I was given. Not only have I furthered my studies but also grown significantly from my experiences. I thank all my teachers and professors for their service, effort and assistance. They played a big role in my study life. I also thank my friends for being there for me throughout this astonishing journey and for all the unforgettable memories shared which will surely last. I owe gratitude to my family for all the support they have given me and for being with me every step of the way. Last but certainly not the least, I’d like to thank the almighty God for His blessings and grace.

I have learned a lot here in China and I can definitely say I have changed for the better. The experience has taught me to be more open minded and to think outside the box. I met a lot of different people and thus came across a lot of different personalities and cultures. This enabled me to see things from different perspectives and has made my world a whole lot more interesting. I will now move forward with my plans to conquer the world and I believe the world will be my oyster. I strongly urge the upcoming students to not only work hard but to work smart and to have a lot of fun while they can. The sky is the limit. Thank you for your time.
