At the exhibition site, the students showed great enthusiasm. They took the initiative to have in-depth exchanges with representatives of participating enterprises, and carefully inquired about competency requirements for cross-border e-commerce positions and talent-training pathways. Li Yong, an international student from Yemen, shared his thoughts after the tour: “I am very grateful to our university for offering this precious opportunity to attend such a high-profile industry event. Through this activity, I have gained a clearer understanding of talent demands from Chinese cross-border e-commerce enterprises and set a more concrete direction for my career planning. In the future, I will work hard to meet corporate requirements and continuously improve my competitiveness.”

Participation in the 2026 Global Cross-border E-commerce Trade Expo marks an important initiative of the School of International Education to improve the quality and effectiveness of education for international students in China. By bringing students to the front line of the industry and enabling them to learn about employers’ requirements face-to-face, the university has effectively broadened their employment horizons and opportunities, and helped them accumulate valuable experience for future work with Chinese enterprises going global or starting their own businesses. Familiar with the languages, cultures and market environments of their home countries, international students possess natural advantages in cross-cultural communication and can serve as a unique bridge for Zhejiang-based enterprises to explore overseas markets and connect with international resources. Our university will continue to build multi-level and diversified practical platforms, give full play to the connecting role of international students, serve local economic development, help more Zhejiang enterprises expand into global markets, and contribute educational strength to the high-level opening-up of Zhejiang Province.
