Jul 10, 2015    Hits:

As the Lantern Festival coincided with Leifeng Day this year, volunteers of Humanities and International Education School from home and abroad visited West Lake Social Welfare Center to do voluntary work there.
After getting the brief of the organization from the staff, volunteers talked and guessed lantern riddles with seniors living at seniors’ home. Seniors and volunteers had a nice talk, and some seniors explained lantern riddles to foreign students. With the efforts of seniors and volunteers, all lantern riddles were solved. These interesting riddles make the festival atmosphere happier.
After the activity, foreign volunteers showed their talents, such as Chinese classic song singing. The melody was so classic and beautiful that people at present all sang together. Then, all volunteers took pictures with seniors. Seniors said that they were happy to see all the volunteers and wished to see them again in the future.
School of Humanities and International Education has dedicated to voluntary service and actively develop the forms of it with the participation of foreign students. Therefore, we now have organized Leifeng Team, which expand the influence of voluntary service among all teachers and students. This activity was one of the brand voluntary services of Humanities and International Education School, and there will be more voluntary service that spread the spirit to every corner of society.
Thanks to this activity, students improved their executive capacity in voluntary work and had a better understanding of Leifeng Spirit.
