On the Application for First-class Undergraduate Courses Project in Zhejiang Province

On the afternoon of May 10, 2022, SOIE invited Professor Dou Lizhen from the School of Marxism to give a lecture with the theme of “Application of First-class Undergraduate Courses Project in Zhejiang Province”. The lecture was hosted by Wei Jianhua, Vice-Dean of School of International Education, and all the staff of School of International Education listened to the lecture.

Taking the construction of first-class undergraduate courses as the starting point and from personal experience, Professor Dou explained in detail the relevant policies of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education on the construction and declaration of first-class undergraduate courses in Zhejiang Province, analyzed the background of the construction of first-class undergraduate courses in Zhejiang Province, and systematically explained the teaching design, application, declaration and practical effects of first-class undergraduate courses in Zhejiang Province.

Professor Dou pointed out that in the course of curriculum construction, teachers should grasp the “pain points” of curriculum teaching,apply cross-border mindset to guide curriculum content, teaching methods, teaching activities and student learning, achieve integration and innovation, adhere to rule education, and fulfill the mission of education. She stressed that applicants should focus on the design of the syllabus, implement the links of "teaching content, teaching activities, teaching evaluation", and constantly change their ideas, update their ideas, and build first-class undergraduate courses.

Finally, Professor Dou and the on-site teachers had a full exchange and discussion on the construction and declaration of first-class undergraduate courses, and put forward valuable suggestions for our college's curriculum construction. This lecture has greatly benefited our teachers and will certainly promote our curriculum construction and development.
