On the afternoon of June 15, 2022, SOIE invited Associate Professor Lun Yumin, Deputy Director of the Scientific Research Division (Social Cooperation Office) of ZUST , to carry out a lecture on the theme of "Theory and Methods of Social Investigation". This lecture was hosted by Wei Jianhua, Vice- Dean of SOIE, and all the faculty members of SOIE attended the lecture.

Professor Lun introduced the topic through "what is social investigation", briefly introduced the basic principles of social investigation, and then introduced the basic procedures and methods of social investigation in details. Combining with various excellent cases, he vividly described how to select topics and carry out preparation, how to formulate investigation plans, how to determine on the investigation methods, investigation objects and investigation contents, and finally on three aspects to write the survey report, including principles of data collation, data review and identification of data classification.

Professor Lun comprehensively introduced the theory and methods of social investigation in a simple way. The lecture was easy to understand, vivid and interesting, which aroused wide interest of the teachers and students present. Everyone had in-depth exchanges and discussions with Professor Lun on their own questions. Through attending the lectures, the teachers and students learned the research methods, expanded the scope of understanding, broadened the research vision, and opened up new ideas for the development of teaching and scientific research. The lecture ended successfully in the active interaction between teachers and students.
