Scholarship for Outstanding New Students of ZUST
1. Applicants of Outstanding New Students Scholarship Applicants should be International students who will study at ZUST. Applicants should be healthy. 2. Qualification of Outstanding New Students Scholarship 1) Excellent study records (the applicants should provide certificates and transcripts for proof of the highest education finished); 2) The study period of applicants should be no less than one year; 3) An applicant applying for the Chinese- taught degree program (except Business Chinese program) should have HSK 5 certificate with a score of 180 or above; 4) An applicant applying for the English- taught program should have one of the following certificates: IELTS, TOEFL, GRE or PET. Applicants who don’t have these certificates need to pass the English Level Test organized by ZUST. 3. Levels and Quotas for Scholarships ZUST Outstanding New Students Scholarship consists of four levels: The first level: 100% of the annual tuition fee of students’ first academic year The second level: 70% of the annual tuition fee of students’ first academic year The third level: 50% of the annual tuition fee of students’ first academic year The fourth level: 30% of the annual tuition fee of students’ first academic year
ZUST Promotion Scholarship of ZUST: No more than 5000RMB. 4. Application Materials 1) Application form for Scholarship of ZUST. 2) Scanned copy of passport and all visa pages in China. 3) Scanned copy of notarized highest diploma and transcripts. 4) 1 or 2 recommendation letters (in Chinese or English). 5) Students already in China should provide transfer letter or study certificate given by the previous school with attendance rate and study performance. 6) Language proficiency certificate. 7) Study Plan (in Chinese or English). 8) Foreigner physical examination form. 9) Certificate of no criminal record; no drug use or drug-related commitment letter. 10) Letter of financial guarantee (provide proof of deposit of an equivalent amount for at least one academic year of tuition). 5. Application Procedures and Evaluation The applicants for Outstanding New Students Scholarship should submit the application materials to School of International Education(SOIE) of ZUST before May 30th or December 10th each year. No late applications will be considered.School of International Education(SOIE) will announce the candidates publicly. The candidates will be reevaluated at the end of the first term based on their study, attitude and performance. The candidates will not receive the scholarship in the second term if they fail to pass any course, miss 20 teaching periods (including sick leave, private affair leave, and truancy), commit plagiarism or have been imposed a punishment of a warning or above.
